2nd Anniversary of Ordination to the Priesthood

Two years ago today Cardinal Seán O’Malley ordained me to the priesthood of Jesus Christ. I’m grateful for the blessings that I’ve received over the past two years and the people I’ve met.

My greatest joy is to administer the Sacraments of the Church. The Seven Sacraments are the visible signs instituted by Christ to give grace. As a priest, it is my privilege to be an instrument whose purpose is to bring God to others. When we receive the Sacraments we receive God.

Ordination Instramentum-2

The photo above is from the Rite of Ordination. Cardinal Seán is handing me a paten with bread and a chalice filled with wine. At the same time, he is saying the words, “Receive the oblation of the holy people to be offered to God. Understand what you do, imitate what you celebrate, and conform your life to the mystery of the Lord’s cross.”

Please pray for me, for all priests and for an increase of vocations to the priesthood.
