Saint André Bessette and Saint Joseph’s Oratory

Traditionally, the Epiphany would have been celebrated today as the twelfth day of Christmas. Merry Christmas and Happy Epiphany. On the current liturgical calendar today is the memorial of Saint André Bessette. Brother Andre, as he is affectionately called by many, is especially known for his great devotion to Saint Joseph. Part of his legacy includes the Saint Joseph Oratory on Mount Royal in Montreal, Canada. I had the privilege of making a brief pilgrimage there back in October.

Lord our God, friend of the lowly, who gave your servant, Saint André Bessette, a great devotion to Saint Joseph and a special commitment to the poor and afflicted, help us through his intercession to follow his example of prayer and love and so come to share with him in your glory. Through Our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever.
