What’s in store for 2014?

Friends, thanks for visiting and reading the blog. I consider this blog to be an extension of my parochial ministry. For the foreseeable future, I intend to try to post once or twice a week. Perhaps you have noticed the two new page tabs that have appeared below the banner a week or two ago? The sentence on each page is a bit cryptic, let me fill you in on what will be percolating over the next few months.

For last couple months and continuing to the present, I have been laying the framework for the production of two podcast series: “Your Catholic Home” and “Catechism and Life.” At this stage, I just wish to give an inkling of where the Your Catholic Home podcast is heading. Most people come to know and love God in the domestic Church, the family. This sacred space, where we learn to love and trust, is the location where the beginnings of a life of discipleship are found. For this reason, a parishioner and I are working on a podcast that aims to strengthen and support the home faith life of families and individuals. We have much preparation and planning to complete before this project is ready to “go live.” More details to follow.

If you read my end-of-the-year letter, you know that I will be giving special devotion to Saint John of Avila. Occasionally, I might post something interesting of his that I come across. I am still on track reading a few pages a day of Father Jungmann’s The Mass of the Roman Rite. Expect the occasional post about that as well.

My prayer for you and me is that in 2014 we will become better friends of Our Lord and Our Lady.
