Happy Christmas Eve, Eve! I hope your preparations for Christmas are complete or nearly complete. Don’t forget to take a few moments for quiet prayer to prepare a place in your heart to receive the new-born Savior.
Truth be told, the decorations have actually been down for few weeks now. Here’s what they looked like before.
The question is, what happened to them? Have a look.
Each trash bag is not filled with trash; they contain gifts for the children of particular families in need.
There are three parishes in Billerica: St Mary’s, St Andrew’s and St Theresa’s. Each of the parishes collect Christmas gifts during Advent for those in need, though each has a particular focus: the gifts collected at St Mary’s go to the Missionaries of Charity (Blessed Theresa of Calcutta’s sisters) in Dorchester; gifts collected at St Theresa’s (pictured throughout) go children in Billerica; and gifts collected at St Andrew’s go to children whose fathers are incarnated at a local house of corrections.
The adornment might be off of the trees in the back our churches, but the adornment of good works done for the love of God remain. I hope each of you has the opportunity to undertake some good work for the love of God and His people this Christmas Season.
